Purpose of the Website
The Purpose of this website is to provide all future students who have 39b with Mr. McCoy a basic foundation of what the emphasis of the Western Genre is and what he expects. The goal is to help you identify the most important conventions of the Western. It is also intended to help you understand that there are two Westerns, the Classical Western that was present before World War 2 and the Super Western which was a result of the changes made to the Classical Western to meet the demands of the Post World War Society.

Tab 3. Well for Fall 2013 39b our class focused reading was Cormac McCarthy "Blood Meridian" the purpose of this tab is to give you basic examples of Conventional and Unconventional elements found in the story.
Tab 4. The Purpose it to identify and list a series of Conventional Elements of both the Classical Western Genre and that of the Super Western Genre.
Tab 5. The name says it all. The purpose is to identify the differences among Classical Western and Super Western Heroes
Tab 6. The Western Dictionary: It literally is a Western Dictionary. Its a composition of Western Slang words that we have encountered throughout our reading and the movies that we have watched.
